They see one on TV or in a movie, and they think of “sniper” as a kind of cold-blooded killer with high- powered rifles who specializes in taking out high-priority targets from long distances. But the actual meaning of the word “sniper” isn’t exactly what you might think. A sniper actually isn’t that special. In fact, most people are pretty good at guessing where other people are going to be positioned before they even open their mouths! But because we don’t talk about it very often, sniping has developed its own unique set of skills and techniques which are almost impossible to learn through books or YouTube videos. We call these skills “sniping” because that’s how other players (and even some coaches) refer to it – such as when they talk about being able to place multiple shots in a short space of time or being able to take down distant targets from great distances. Even though sniping is an essential skill for almost any player, many people are unaware of it, which is why I created this blog post.
