About Last Light

The first thing that makes Last Light dangerous isn't the zombies. It's the fact that almost everything in the abandoned laboratory needs electricity. Your character wakes up with no memory of how they got there, surrounded by infected former lab victims and a building that offers very few safe places to hide. Starting around Floor 15, the only way out is to work upward toward Floor 0.

Keeping the Lights On

Power management can make or break a run. Lighting helps reveal objects and routes that would otherwise remain hidden, while security doors and the elevator also depend on a functioning electrical system. Spending power without a plan can leave an important system useless when it's needed most. Sometimes improving visibility is worth more than buying another weapon.

Coins Don't Grow on Trees

Generators provide coins each day, but there is never quite enough money to buy everything. Ammunition disappears during fights, lockers may hold useful supplies, and better guns or upgraded tools can make later floors more manageable. Turrets offer another way to defend your position, although setting up defenses still requires careful spending.

The infected are not going to give you much time to admire your preparations. Guns deal with immediate danger, while traps and chemical defenses help keep approaching enemies under control.

One More Floor

Progress means more than finding an elevator and leaving. Every floor must be cleared, and its circuit breaker activated before the route upward becomes available. The armory on Floor 55 provides a useful chance to replace weapons and improve equipment before continuing the climb.

Defeating enemies also strengthens weapons permanently, giving future attempts a better chance of success. That small advantage matters when a run falls apart, and another escape attempt begins.

Last Light is about managing problems before they become disasters. A poorly timed fight, an empty ammunition supply, or a power shortage can ruin an otherwise solid plan. Getting out requires more than a steady aim; it takes patience, preparation, and a willingness to decide what can wait.
